WHAT ARE THE THREE INTERNAL CONTENT GENRES?

WHAT IS INTERNAL GENRE?

An internal genre or content genre is a genre type within a story that is crafted by the writer/author that provides a specific experience in the reader. Each genre type has specific set of obligatory scenes or experiences to endure. The internal genre is surrounded by a goal or object of intense desire that drives the story forward.

WHAT ARE THE TYPES OF INTERNAL GENRE?

MORALITY STORY

The morality story is based around a character arc driven plot by one protagonist whose journey is centered around selfishness to altruism.

STATUS STORY

The status story is a character arc driven plot by one protagonist whose journey is centered around success and failure. The protagonist’s desires are in the interest of rising in social standing and the cost of doing so. It is about the desire of validation, but the need of self-esteem and self-respect.

WORLDVIEW STORY

The worldview story is based around a character arc driven plot by one protagonist whose journey is centered around perspective and is often a cautionary tale. These stories help readers or viewers draft a narrative around their own possibilities, limitations, decisions and need for change.
